Membership

Annual Membership subscription is £12 per member. This includes a sum of £6.80 which covers the subscription to the National u3a Matters magazine (5 issues per year) and the levy payable to the National u3a organisation which provides among other things this website, general administration services and insurance for u3a activities.

Members joining part way through the financial year of our u3a, which runs from 1st April - 31st March will be charged at the rate of £1 per month, or part month to the accounting year end. For example, someone joining at the July Monthly meeting would pay £9 for July to March.

Most groups which meet in hired premises charge £2 per member per meeting to cover the room rental.

New Members Meeting

• Please read the July 2024 Newsletter in the page link to see details of our Groups.

• Download an Application Form from the page link.

• EITHER print and complete the Application Form then phone the Membership Secretary for instructions on how to process the form. Payment may be made by Bank Transfer - see below.

• OR come along to any of our monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 1.15 at the URC Hall Elm Road Gatley. Your first meeting is free, and there you can fill in an application form and join.

Once your application has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email followed by a print version by post which you will need to keep/have available on your phone as evidence of your membership number if required,

RENEWALS

Renewal of membership for existing members does not now require a renewal form to be completed. A payment of £12 to the Membership Secretary is sufficient. PLEASE RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP PROMPTLY BETWEEN 1ST AND 30TH APRIL

PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER

For those who use online banking, joining and renewal subscriptions may be paid by bank transfer. Details are given on the Application Form and in the page link.

GIFT AID

If you would like us to be able to reclaim the tax on your annual subscription (known as a 'donation' for tax purposes), please download and fill in the Gift Aid Declaration Form in the links. We are very grateful to the many of our members who have already done this, enabling us to claim £1440 over the last 5 years. Anyone else who wishes to do so can alternatively collect a Gift Aid Form at a Monthly Open meetings. New members can complete the Gift Aid declaration on the Application Form. Thank you.
