Walking (Longer)

Status:Active, open to new members
When: on Friday mornings 9:15 am-3:00 pm
3rd Friday 9:15 Gatley Hill

Although the Longer Walks are usually between 6 and 8 miles, and are rather more strenuous than our other groups, we always take them at an easy pace. We visit the marvellous countryside of Cheshire, Derbyshire or the West Pennine Moors. They are very sociable events, and anybody who is reasonably fit and used to walking will be able to enjoy them. We normally take coffee and a snack for elevenses and a packed lunch, but sometimes on a shorter walk we finish with a pub lunch.

Country walking with fresh air and exercise in convivial company – what more could you want in your senior years – surely not a yacht at Cannes?

Car sharing from Gatley Hill House car park is the normal arrangement.
