During its 2024 programme, which has now come to an end,  the Environment Group continued with its aim of studying how changes in local and global environments may affect people and nature.  Areas scheduled for visits included both built and natural environments such as Bramall Hall, Abney Hall, Castleton, Mam Tor and Edale Village; Marple Bridge and Samuel Oldknow’s industrial heritage; Manchester Museum of Science and Industry, Castlefield Roman Fort and the canals; Delph Village; Whaley Bridge and the Peak Forest Canal.

Although the 2024 visit season is now completed, interested members can anticipate a 2025 season of visits which will be preceded by a planning meeting in early 2025.  Members will be invited to propose suitable visits and will be invited to take part in the planning process and reconnaissance visits.
